Tell us more about what you would like to do?

Playing with the idea of duality and unity, our goal is to utilize two models as a moving canvas. Both models would be live-painted separately but only when they intertwine would the full image be revealed. The performance element of this piece would make it well suited to a stage or common area. This is a one time work and first time collaboration between Darcy Bartlett of Firebird Face and Body Art and Wendy Morgan of Get Faced Entertainment.

How many years have you been creating your art?

4 years of makeup artistry, 31 combined years of general visual arts experience in different mediums.

Please list a few highlights of your art experience so far:

Darcy:
-Works locally both with own company and other entertainment companies as a face and body painter.
-Resident Makeup Artist for Chaos Entertainment, Calgary, AB (2014)
-B.F.A. Theatre, Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, 2007

Wendy:
-Owner of Get Faced Entertainment where I manage everything from face painting to circus and rap in a multitude of different events giving work to a variety of different arts and performers.
-This year became owner of East Coast Art Party NL where we create social painting events at local hot spots. We teach art to the masses and keep a cool and relaxing environment to crate in.
-My body painting on one festival go-er was the main photo for the Salmon Festival 2017 photo review by canadianbeats.ca
-Ran a town wide initiative to paint windows this year and incorporate small business store fronts in my home town and told their history through social media. This brought publicity to me, my art, and in turn the businesses, and the town as a whole.
-I was nominated this year for the Arts & Culture Civic award in my home town for my achievements in the past year and I will get to know the winner May 16th . Wish me luck !

Please briefly describe your art style (what sets you apart)

We both possess a very bold and graphic style, with pop art elements and a flair for the dramatic! We understand the demographic and have something perfectly fitting for a festival of nature technology. Above all visual elements; as artists in any medium will tell you; we really strive to make an impact on an audience with our work. We strive for that wide eyed reaction, we strive to see people tuck their arm underneath their elbow and touch their chin in pondering curiosity, Because art is alive and it thinks for it's self at times. Art is more than something that makes your grand-mother go "gee, that's nice!" .

Describe your artistic style in three words:

Abstract street art

Tell us more about what you would like to do?

I work a lot in paintings and sculptures based on trashed materials i find in our streets, after recycling them, i refine and transform them into my expression. I have been placing them back in the streets for people to enjoy. Art for me has to have this sense of reachability in order for the viewer to approach it and embrace it in a more comfortable way.

Im currently investigating about our time perception as individuals and as a collective society. How the illusion of time passing by can rule our life and make us act and live on its demand, acting accordingly to certain time frames socially stablished as standard which we agreed on to let them influence the way we project ourselves to the world. Even for some of us causing to not be fully present on the moment.

I think the Festival will be an amazing opportunity to target most of the people passing by and make them reflect on this, in order to bring them back and remind them to practice their presence on this very present moment.
